Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a peer-reviewed and evidence-based innovative therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and resolve traumatic memories and emotional distress. Combining elements of cognitive behavioral therapy and eye movement techniques, ART facilitates a rapid and effective healing process.

Using unique visualizations techniques and how one's body is affected by distressing images or memories, ART enhances rapid eye movements that are comparable to eye movements during dreaming. This technique helps reprocess the traumatic memories, allowing individuals to reduce their emotional charge and integrate the experiences in a healthier way. ART empowers individuals to reclaim their lives and move forward with greater resilience and emotional well-being. This client-centered approach fosters a safe and supportive environment, ensuring that clients feel heard and understood throughout their healing journey.

The therapy is typically brief, with many clients experiencing significant relief in just a few sessions. Besides being an effective modality in the treatment of acute trauma, ART can help facilitate recovery for a wide range of other mental health issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Family Issues
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
  • Job-Related Stress
  • Pain Management
  • Relationship Issues
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Phobias

ART sessions are typically 80 minutes in length to ensure sufficient time for check-in, processing of traumatic content, and regulation.
