Hello St. Albert community and valued clients,

I’m deeply grateful to share that Schaefer Counselling Services has been named a 2025 Silver Winner in Community Votes for Therapy and Counselling.

While this recognition is meaningful, what matters most to me is what it represents: the trust, courage, and commitment of the individuals and families who choose to engage in therapy, and the support of a community that values mental health and well-being.

More Than an Award — It’s About Connection

When I opened Schaefer Counselling Services, my intention was to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where people could explore, heal, and grow at their own pace. Therapy is not something that happens to someone—it’s something we do together. Each session reflects the bravery it takes to show up, reflect, heal, and grow.

Every session and every shared conversation continues to affirm my belief in the power of connection, resilience, and collaborative work.

To my clients: thank you. I’m deeply grateful for the trust you place in me and for inviting me into meaningful and often tender parts of your lives. Your willingness to engage in this work is what gives it meaning, and this recognition reflects the work we do together.

Rooted in the St. Albert Community

The St. Albert community has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. This recognition feels especially meaningful because it comes directly from the people of this community. It speaks to the importance of accessible, compassionate, and trauma-informed mental health care, and I’m honoured to be part of a community that values these conversations.

Why This Matters

Community Votes highlights local services that community members trust and value. Being recognized in this way reinforces my ongoing commitment to offering therapy that is:

  • Client-centred and collaborative

  • Trauma-informed and evidence-based

  • Grounded in safety, respect, and care

With Gratitude

To my clients: thank you for the privilege of walking alongside you.
To the St. Albert community: thank you for your continued encouragement and support.

This recognition is not a destination—it’s a reminder of why this work matters and who it’s for.

With heartfelt gratitude,

—Annika
