Today is Action Anxiety Day, a national day of awareness and advocacy for one of the most common — yet often misunderstood — mental health experiences.
According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, nearly 1 in 4 Canadians will experience an anxiety disorder in their lifetime. That’s millions of people navigating daily life with a nervous system that can feel constantly on overdrive.
If you find yourself on edge, flooded with “what ifs,” or feeling like your body is always bracing for something, know this:
-
It’s not just in your head
-
It’s real and valid
-
You are not alone
You don’t have to wait until anxiety feels unbearable. There are ways to work with it gently, skillfully, and at your own pace.
If you’re curious about how therapy might support you, I offer in-person sessions in St. Albert and virtual sessions across Alberta and several other provinces. You’re welcome to reach out whenever you’re ready.
