One of my favourite places in the world is a quaint beach in Denmark — a spot I’ve visited every year since childhood and have shared with my own family. There’s something about the ocean that soothes me like nothing else. The rhythm of the waves, the horizon stretching endlessly — it’s a feeling I treasure deeply.
Today, I invite you to imagine standing barefoot on a beach, feeling the cool water gently roll in and out around your feet. With each inhale, imagine the water approaching. With each exhale, feel it recede.
Perhaps it’s near sunset, with soft light casting a gentle glow across the horizon. The weight of the week begins to slip away, just like your footprints being washed away by the waves. In this moment, you can feel still, grounded, and present.
Let the rhythm of the waves carry away what no longer serves you. If it helps, quietly say: “I let go of what’s behind me”, and allow your breath to flow naturally, like the waves moving back and forth.
If you’d like to explore ways to bring this sense of calm and grounding into your everyday life, I offer in-person counselling in St. Albert and virtual sessions across several provinces. You don’t have to navigate life’s ups and downs alone.
