At Schaefer Counselling Services, the heart of my work has always been creating a space for healing. When I first opened this practice in St. Albert in October 2024, my goal was simple: to provide an accepting, compassionate, and professional environment where individuals could feel supported in their most vulnerable moments.
Today, I am incredibly humbled to share that this mission has been recognized. Schaefer Counselling Services has been named a winner of the 2026 Canadian Choice Award for Mental Health Clinics.
More Than Just an Award
While it is an honour to receive this recognition, I truly believe that this milestone belongs to the community. To me, this award isn't just about the practice—it is a reflection of the trust, openness, and courage of the individuals I have the privilege of working alongside each day.
Therapy is a collaborative journey. It requires immense strength to seek support and even more resilience to do the work of healing. I am constantly inspired by the people who walk into this space and allow me to be a part of their story. This award is a testament to their progress and the vital importance of mental health care in our city.
