A serene wooden boardwalk path through a lush green marsh in St. Albert, representing a calm and steady journey toward mental wellness.

There is something deeply grounding about the boardwalks at Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park. Whether it’s the way the light hits the water or the rhythmic sound of footsteps on wood, it reminds us that healing is rarely a sprint—it’s a steady, intentional walk.

This April, I am taking that philosophy out of the practice and into the heart of our community. I am thrilled to announce that Schaefer Counselling Services will be part of the St. Albert Lifestyle Expo from April 17–19.

Creating Space in the Everyday

In my practice, I often talk about "creating space"—space to breathe, space to process trauma, and space to grow. Too often, we treat mental health as a "crisis-only" topic, something discussed only behind closed doors. But mental wellness belongs in our everyday spaces: our parks, our coffee shops, and our community gatherings.

My goal for this year’s Expo is to demystify the therapeutic process. Therapy doesn't have to be intimidating; it can be a gentle experience tailored to your unique rhythm.

What to Expect at the Booth

If you’ve been curious about counselling but aren't sure where to start, I invite you to stop by for a conversation. We can chat about:

  • Demystifying Therapy: Get honest answers about how counselling works. I’m here to pull back the curtain on the therapeutic experience and discuss how a trauma-informed approach can support your unique journey.

  • Practical Tools: Explore my Mental Health Toolkit. I’ll be sharing tangible, community-based resources and strategies you can use immediately to support your emotional well-being.

  • Low-Pressure Connection: Chat in a relaxed, informal environment—whether you’re seeking support or just curious to learn more about the services available in our community.

Event Details

  • When: April 17 – 19, 2026

  • Where: Servus Credit Union Place (400 Campbell Rd, St. Albert)

Community wellness starts with a single conversation, and I am honoured to be a part of that. Let’s work together to create more space for healing in our community.

Let’s continue building a more supportive, resilient St. Albert—one step at a time.
