As the old year draws to a close and a new one begins, this transition carries unique meaning for each of us. What thoughts and emotions are stirring within you? Are you feeling joy and anticipation, or does uncertainty and fear weigh heavy on your heart?

No matter how we experience this turning of the year, there is hope in remembering that we have the power to choose our responses. We can decide to take new steps, walk a different path, or establish healthier boundaries.

Of course, change is rarely easy. The journey may feel like an uphill climb—sometimes like clinging to the edge of a cliff, inching upward one hard-fought centimetre at a time, with occasional slips backward. It’s demanding work—but thankfully, it’s a path we don’t have to walk alone.

My hope for you is that you have supportive people in your life to walk alongside you. And if you feel alone, I encourage you to reach out—to a trusted friend, family member, or professional who can accompany you on your path to healing and growth.
